Scope of this Standard
This standard specifies the minimum requirements for eco-lodges which are rented for tourism purposes in Trinidad and Tobago. This standard specifies legal and operational requirements and outlines the eco-tourism principles for eco-lodge operators in Trinidad and Tobago. This standard also specifies requirements for: a) waste minimization; b) energy efficiency; c) animal welfare; d) external areas; and e) accommodation. This standard does not apply to private residences or apartments and premises used exclusively for the accommodation of persons in religious, educational or charitable organizations.
